Notes
- A - Held in private hands as part of a 15-minute
reel of 8mm film shot from a TV screen by a fan, apparently in Australia. The
BBC also hold a copy.
- K - Held by the Australian Archives on 16mm b/wTR as part of a collection
of portions of Doctor Who episodes censored by ABC-TV.
The BBC hold a copy. These clips were discovered by a
fan, Damian Shanahan, in October 1996.
- L - Held by ABC-TV Australia as part of a film insert for
PERSPECTIVES: C For Computer (tx ABC 29/5/74) on 16mm b/wTR. The BBC hold a
copy. These clips were discovered in August 1995.
- M - Held by the BBC as part of WHICKER'S WORLD: I Don't Like
My Monsters To Have Oedipus Complexes (tx 27/1/68) on b/w film. A shorter
version of the clip, 0:19, is also held independently on an edition of BLUE PETER
(tx 27/11/67) but copied from a film recording rather than the film original.
This version actually runs about 2 seconds longer at the end but has a caption
superimposed over it. Another shorter version (containing no "extra" footage), 0:11, again from a
film recording, is also on the
PERSPECTIVES: C For Computer film insert.
- N - Held by the BBC as part of TOM TOM (tx 26/11/68) on
b/w 16mm film. Discovered as part of research for THIRTY YEARS IN THE TARDIS
in 1993.
- O - Held in private hands on b/w film. The entire sequence lasts
0:10, but most of this features a pair of hands holding the Dalek models
and would not have been shown in the finished episode, if indeed any of this
material was. The film originated with designer Michaeljohn Harris sometime in
the 1970s.
- T - There are frames missing from this sequence.
- V - Held by the BBC as part of an (incomplete) trailer for this
episode on 16mm b/wTR. Discovered by Andrew Martin in October 2003 on the end of a film
recording of BEYOND THE FREEZE - WHAT NEXT? (a completely unrelated
programme tx 5/11/66)
- Y - Held by the BBC as part of a 16mm film insert for TOMORROW'S
WORLD (tx 28/12/66). These clips have been copied from the original film,
rather than a telerecording (film recording). These clips were discovered in
September 2005 when transmitted as part of SUNDAY PAST TIMES (tx
11/9/05).
- Z - Held by the BBC as part of a 16mm film insert for TOMORROW'S WORLD
(tx 28/12/66). This was discovered in September 2005 when it was transmitted as part of
SUNDAY PAST TIMES (tx 11/9/05). A marginally shorter version (but from
a telerecording, rather than the film original) had already been discovered at
the ABC (Australia) as part of a 16mm film insert for PERSPECTIVES:
C For Computer (tx ABC 29/5/74), of which the BBC had taken a copy.
